NOKIA VRRP MANUAL FAILOVER
VRRP failover-delay Overview - TechLibrary - Juniper Networks
The delay in failover timer starts. By default, failover-delay timer is: 500 miliseconds—when the configured VRRP announcement interval is less than 1 second. 2 seconds—when the configured VRRP announcement interval is 1 second or more, and the total number of VRRP groups on the router is 255. 10 seconds—when the configured VRRP announcement interval is 1 second or more, and the number of VRRP

Configuring VRRP with CLI - Nokia
VRRP provides dynamic failover of the forwarding responsibility to the backup router if the master becomes unavailable. The VRRP implementation allows one master per IP subnet. All other VRRP instances in the same domain must be in backup mode.
VRRP cluster does not fail over on changing priority or
Master member does not failover even when priority is reduced to be lower than the other member. Increasing the priority for backup does not help either. Debugs can verify that priority advertisement messages are seen by the Master. Stopping services on one of the members also does not initiate a failover. Both preempt mode and monitor firewall state are disabled on the VRRP instance.
Troubleshooting VRRP on Nokia Checkpoint Firewalls
Feb 06, 2011If the device fails to report its state to the kernel within the specified timeout the kernel will assume that there is a problem with the process and will force a VRRP failover. Note: When ” FW Monitoring ” is enabled on VRRP; any backward clock move will cause fwd to go into problem state and as a result VRRP fail over will occur.
CheckPoint HA: How to force a failover (ClusterXL/VRRP)
Jun 27, 2012There is also a way to failover ClusterXL through dashboard by changing the priority and pushing the policy to the cluster. As for VRRP , it was discussed already, change the VRRP priority through web UI on Nokia. There's a gotcha if you forget to enable Firewall monitoring and do a "cpstop" on the active node you will not have stateful failover.

VRRP - Nokia
The VRRP router which controls the IP address(es) associated with a virtual router is called the master. The master is responsible for forwarding packets sent to the VRRP IP addresses. An election process provides dynamic failover of the forwarding responsibility if the master becomes unavailable.
Troubleshooting VRRP - TechLibrary - Juniper Networks
Configure a failover delay so that the new master delays sending gratuitous ARP replies for the period that you set. This allows the new master to send the ARP replies for all of the VRRP
Manual Failover of the FW Cluster | FW Knowledge
Apr 04, 2013Manual Failover of the FW Cluster. There is a single requirement for non-SPLAT/GAIA systems; FW-1 Monitoring State needs to be enabled. If you’re running IPSO, you can do this via the VRRP configuration page.
